Maintenance Manager
Position Overview: The Maintenance Manager is a hands-on position responsible for coordinating and carrying out maintenance, building management and housekeeping activities.
Primary Job Responsibilities
Maintenance & Building Management: Provide hands-on coordination with department activities by scheduling work assignments, setting priorities and directing work of maintenance personnel and outside providers.- Operation, installation, repair, maintenance, and improvement of all building structures (interior & exterior) and equipment including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, PLC etc.
- Troubleshoot and proactively address maintenance issues and requests to minimize equipment down time.
- Work with any department requiring emergency service or equipment modifications in order to meet customer commitments.
- Oversee and participate in MIL’s 24/7 Emergency On-Call Program.
- Assist with the coordination of building projects including qualifying applicable services and equipment, allocating appropriate resources, scheduling and enforcing time tables etc.
- Ensure compliance with building and equipment standards & regulations.
- Plan and supervise the implementation of all preventive maintenance and repair.
- Identify and implement equipment efficiency and cost savings improvements.
Housekeeping- Restorative maintenance: Promote and maintain a company-wide culture in which continuously addresses and satisfies detailed restorative (painting, overhauling, cleaning etc) efforts and general housekeeping. (MIL’s continuous “Building and Equipment Restoration Program” BERP)
- Maintain program schedule and allocate resources to pro-actively ensure building and equipment surfaces and components are properly treated and cared for in response to environmental and standard degradation/wear.
Supervisory: Provide employees timely, candid and constructive feedback; train and develop employees on technical maintenance skill sets and capabilities to their full potential; provide challenging opportunities that promote continuous improvement and enhance employee career growth; ensure MIL’s standards of customer service, professionalism and commitment are met.
Qualifications and Minimum Job Requirements:- Must be a detail-oriented, organized, self-starting individual with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Must have a minimum of 5 years experience as a Maintenance/Building Manager in an industrial or manufacturing setting.
- PC literate with a thorough understanding of MIL’s custom production software and Microsoft Office applications.
- Strong electrical and mechanical aptitude with experience with boilers, rectifiers, chillers, HVAC, compressors, electrical, plumbing, electronics – PLC schematics.

NDT/NDE Level II – RT
Job Description:
Individual will perform radiographic inspections in accordance with industry standards, aerospace prime specifications, and various customer requirements. Individual will be expected to participate in periodic training programs, and to take qualification examinations as required to maintain or advance their level of certification. Individual will also be expected to maintain their state Radiographer Certification.
Primary Job Responsibilities:
Inspection Process – Unpack parts prior to inspection, and perform general incoming inspections for overall condition of parts (scratches, nicks, dings, etc.). Perform radiographic inspection using equipment and related accessories. Interpret radiographs and evaluate parts in accordance with specified accept/reject criteria. Package parts after inspection. Contribute to housekeeping and preventative maintenance of dep. Compliance with applicable chemical, environmental, and safety procedures during these activities is mandatory. Particular attention is given to compliance with radiation safety procedures.
Documentation – Completion of applicable shop paperwork including but not limited to job traveler, inspection reports, techniques and job log.
Training & Testing – Take part in training sessions related to radiographic inspection processes, procedures, and specifications, as well as training in various areas of quality control and quality assurance.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:
Knowledge – Individual must have completed a 40-hour radiation safety course and be eligible to apply for Radiographer Certification with the Illinois Department of Nuclear Safety. Individual will also have completed at least 80 hours of formal instruction in radiographic inspection theory and processes, and possess a basic understanding of industry standards ASTM E1742 and MIL-STD-453 in addition to MIL General Procedures. Individual will have knowledge of various internal and external audit guidelines and requirements.
Skills – Individual must have the necessary skills to use equipment along with related accessories, to interpret and evaluate radiographic indications, and to verify acceptable film quality. Individual must have at least 2100 total hours of experience in NDE with a minimum of 840 of those hours in radiographic testing.
Abilities – Ability to set up exposures in accordance with approved procedures and techniques, to handle and process radiographic film, and to document NDE inspection results. Ability to understand and comprehend codes, standards, customer specifications, and other contractual documents. X-ray Department Leads must possess the ability to direct department personnel and work effectively with all levels of personnel within the organization.
Minimum Job Requirements:- Develop and maintain a technically proficient and thorough understanding of MIL’s processing capabilities as well as MIL’s Quality System, general procedures and applicable industry standard specifications
- Must be detail oriented with strong oral and written communication skills.
- Possess strong analytical and organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and complete work projects with speed and accuracy, often under pressure and/or short deadlines.
- PC literate with a comprehensive understanding of Microsoft Office applications and MIL’s internal custom production software

ASNT Level III Quality Manager
Key Responsibilities / Accountabilities:
- The ASNT Level III shall be capable of and responsible for establishing and approving techniques and procedures; interpreting codes, standards, specifications, procedures and customer specific requirements; and designating the particular test methods, techniques and procedures to be used.
- Provide training, examination and certification of NDT/NDE Level I, II and III technicians in certified disciplines.
- Interface and assist both internal and external stakeholders across a wide range of projects and inquiries requiring Level III certification and NDT expertise.
- Assist with drafting, review, revision and correction of internally produced documentation including work orders, processing techniques, certifications and quotations.
- Provide collaborative on-going review, communication and maintenance of MIL’s Quality Management System, including its general procedures, test matrices and test methods.
- Facilitate customer and prime contractor audits and perform preparatory internal audits
- Collaborate with Department Managers/Supervisors to ensure compliance with Nadcap, ISO, customer and prime checklist requirements.
- Create frozen process plans and submit to customers for approval
- Assist/Lead investigation for completion of corrective actions and implement steps needed for preventive actions.
- Verify approval status for both quoting and production purposes.
- Assist in maintaining MIL’s prime approvals and in obtaining additional approvals as opportunities arise
Minimum Job Requirements:
Candidates applying must have current ASNT Level III certifications for MT, PT and RT, with UT and VT preferred
Individual will be required to obtain and maintain customer specific level III certifications, such as Honeywell and Boeing.
Preferred candidates have a background in Aerospace and/or Defense manufacturing/design with experience in NADCAP requirements a plus.

Lab Technician I
Position Overview: Individual has the responsibility to conduct operations involving basic chemical laboratory work, chemical maintenance and inventory control, wastewater treatment, and hazardous waste. The Lab Technician I supervises the activities of the Lab Assistants. The Lab Technician I reports to the Laboratory Manager and works closely with the Metal Finishing department and Quality Control personnel. During the absence of the Laboratory Manager, the Lab Technician I will assume the responsibilities of the Laboratory Manager and report directly to the Metal Finishing Manager.
Primary Responsibilities:
Inventory Control:- Track chemical inventories, maintain chemical labeling and storage areas and submit as needed purchasing requisitions.
- Coordinate shipments/deliveries as well as internal routing of chemicals and hazardous material.
Chemical Maintenance:
- Monitor pH, chemical levels, temperatures, and DI water quality in applicable processing tanks and perform chemical additions.
- Perform chemistry make-ups of various solutions.
Hazardous Wastes:
- Transfer hazardous wastes from process lines and wastewater treatment equipment to storage containers. Label such containers and move them to a hazardous waste storage area. Perform all operations regarding the shipping of hazardous waste.
- Maintain familiarity with the requirements of MIL’s Hazardous Waste Contingency Plan (HWCP) to the point of providing an Emergency Coordinator with assistance in the event of an emergency.
- Assist the Laboratory Manager with inventory and maintenance of the emergency response equipment.
- Assist the Laboratory Manager during periodic inspections of hazardous waste containment, storage areas, and equipment used in the handling of hazardous waste.
Wastewater Treatment:
- Monitor, operate, and perform routine maintenance of the wastewater treatment system and maintain regulatory compliance.
Quality Control:
- Assist with material analysis including, but not limited to, coating weight, coating thickness, paint adhesion, corrosion resistance, abrasion resistance, and etch and anodize rates.
- Perform calibrations of control devices relating to waste treatment and production processes.
- Complete applicable data records and inspection logs.
Qualifications and Minimum Job Requirements:
- A minimum of 2 years of college education is preferred.
- Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office and applicable data entry software applications.
- Must be detail-oriented and possess the ability to work effectively with all levels of personnel within the organization.
- Knowledge of the materials used and wastes generated by the MIL chemical and metal finishing processes.
- Must be able to understand and carry out instructions pertaining to the management of hazardous waste.
- Develop a thorough understanding of applicable MIL general procedures as well as safety and environmental practices and procedures.
- Within 1 year after assuming the role of Laboratory Technician I, must be able to obtain a State of Illinois Class K Wastewater Operator license.
Training and Continuous Improvement:
- Within 6 months after assuming the role of Laboratory Technician I, undergo a 2 hour, classroom training session including job-specific responsibilities conducted by the Laboratory Manager to satisfy the federal and state introductory training requirements pertaining to the management of hazardous waste.
- Participate in an annual review of the introductory training conducted by the Laboratory Manager.
- Take part in on-going training sessions related to chemical processing and hazardous waste procedures and quality control.
- Participate in periodic testing and performance evaluations.
- Participate in MIL quality, process, and safety-related continuous performance improvement programs.
